4 CC #190 {Sentiment Only}

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday!

This week, miss Tamie is our hostess, and she's issuing the following challenge:

4 CC #190 {Sentiment Only}

So, this means no other images - just a sentiment. Perfect for CAS cards and that's exactly what I did! I dug out my new-to-me Papertrey Ink stamp sets called Watercolor Wonder and Stylish Sentiments: Birthday and got busy with some bright, cheery inks:

I used my Lil' Inker Designs stitched rectangle mat to cut out my panel and added some black sequins - and wa-laaaa! Done in less that 10 minutes, I'm sure! And I don't know about you, but I think it has definite WOW factor :)

Be sure to hop on over to the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog HERE and see what our wonderful design team has for you to drool over....then get inky and come play with us! Happy crafting!

PP #191 {You Make me Smile!}

Happy Tuesday! I am enjoying a full "home-day" today (that's right...absolutely no errands, appointments, runs, or places I need to be) except the bus stop at 4 p.m. to collect my daughter! These days do NOT happen very often for me lately so I am taking full advantage - in my craft room!

I do not usually make "for-fun" cards either. Being on several Design Teams, I seem to just get those cards done and blogged and I never find time to just PLAY! So, that's what I decided to do today....I found this interesting color combo at The Paper Players and I have to admit....when I first saw the swatch, I was a bit unsure. Then I dug out papers in each color and was pleasantly surprised how pretty it is!! All I could vision was flowers/stems!

Here is my CAS card using last week's Paper Players color combo:

I chose to use this awesome sentiment from Papertrey Ink...isn't that font just PERFECT for this card?! Ya, I thought so too! *wink*

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges as well:

Natalie & Amy - Embossing
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes + Embossing
Sweet Stamps - Embossing
Stamp and Create - Spring Flowers
Allsorts - Spring Flowers
Creative Knockouts - Spring is in the Air

Thanks for stopping in this afternoon - hope you have a fantastic day! We are scheduled for rain/snow over the next 36 hours - I am hoping they are wrong! Cheers!

3-in-1 Easter Wishes

I had a very miraculous thing happen to me when I created this card...yep, you heard right - "miraculous!" I could combine 3 Design Team commitments into this one card: {PIN}spirational Challenges, Twisted Tuesday challenges and Seize the Sketch! I was so tickled - I have been short of crafty time the past couple weeks, so when I realized I could "make them all work together" I did a jig!

The photo inspiration this week from {PIN}spirational is this cutie holding her bunny:

The sponsors for this week's challenge at {PIN}spirational Challenges are:

Elizabeth Bell (whom I had the privilege of using for my image)

The layout I made my card with is from Seize the Sketch:

I took the liberty of making my card a square 5.5 x 5.5 card to accommodate my image and butterflies....

The challenge at Twisted Tuesday Challenges for the next 2 weeks is "I Need Your Paperwork" so you have to use more than 3 patterned papers (I used 3 - third one is on the butterflies!)

THE TWIST: You can't do your paperwork without a pen. Show us writing or doodling on your creation (I doodled the butterfly trails).

Thanks so much for sticking with this post til the end ;) I know it's a long one! Please check out each challenge blog and join in the fun this week! All the DT's have made such GORGEOUS creations for you to check out! Happy crafting! xoxoxo

TPE #246 {For Some BUNNY Special...}

Welcome back to my blog :) This week at The Pink Elephant, we have a THEME challenge for you:

As you've probably guessed from my cutie image up there, yes, the theme this week is indeed EASTER!

This cutie-patootie is called Lollipop Bunny from byLORi Designs and I had a ton of fun creating this card for you this was a very CAS design as I have spent all weekend with my bestie, Leanne, focusing on my craft room! Shopping at IKEA, Bed/Bath and Beyond, Michael's etc. for furniture and organizational items; purging and re-organizing - so I didn't have a lot of time to make a card this weekend!

Please be sure to hop on over to the TPE Challenge Blog HERE to see what all the talented ladies created for you this week! Leave us a link to your Easter creation so that we can leave you some love as well! Happy crafting!

Merry Monday #104

Happy "Merry Monday!"

This week our challenge hostess is Karen and she wants us to use Slate and/or Kraft along with any neutral you want (white, vanilla, cream etc.)

Now, I must apologize to Karen right off the get-go. I did NOT stick to the color scheme. I *thought* I did however, as I was blogging my post, I realized I didn't use Kraft on my card. So sorry Karen!!!

I used grey, white and did the chalkboard technique...I have so much fun doing this technique! I added a couple scallop borders and an organza ribbon to complete the card! Be sure to hop on over to the challenge blog to see what all the Merry Makers have created for you this week! You will be amazed! Cheers!

Flowery Birthday at Sweet Stampin'

Happy Saturday folks! As you are reading this, I am enjoying a weekend with my bestie, Leanne - catching up, giggling, shopping in the city, and doing some crafty re-organization and remodeling in my craft cave! I'm so very excited - I hope to get crafty a bit with her too - hoping we have time!

The challenge this week at Sweet Stampin' is FLOWERS! Who doesn't love flowers?! For my card this week, I got "flower-happy!" :)

I have starting to try my hand at the "chalkboard" technique so I wanted to use it again on this card...I really think it's a lot of fun and the effect is awesome :) Then I dug out various embossing folders and dies and got to work on creating all the flowers :) FUN!!!! I believe all these flower dies are from MFT.

Thanks for stopping in today - I sure hope you are able to find some time to gather up all your "flower" items and get crafty with us - don't forget - you HAVE to stamp something on your project! Other than that, you need to have fun! Click HERE to be directed to the SS challenge blog. Happy crafting!

TPE #245 {Inspiration Challenge!}

 Welcome back to another challenge from The Pink Elephant! This week it's an inspiration challenge from this gorgeous picture:

I have been checking out crafty "how-to" and "technique" videos on You Tube for everything crafty and I really liked one I came across: to use the negative space with dies....

I used a stitched mat from 'Lil Inker Designs to cut out my focal layer and then used a MFT flower die to cut the negative from. It was then layered on my Melon Mambo to allow the hot pink to shine through :) I stamped my gorgeous big sentiment from Papertrey Ink and added some ribbon and a few pearls and wa-laaa! Done! The bottom layer is dry embossed with my large polka dots embossing folder and the main layer is added with foam tape. Easy peesy! I really love this technique and will be doing it more often with my dies!

Thanks for stopping in today and I really encourage you to hop on over to The Pink Elephant challenge blog HERE to see what the rest of the uber-talented DT has created for your viewing pleasure :) I sure do hope you get a chance to super excited to be back tomorrow

Merry Monday #103 {Use a Snowman!}

Welcome back to my blog and to another challenge at Merry Monday! This is the challenge all about Christmas cards and getting a head start on the Christmas season. This week's challenge was chosen by Kathy. You are to create a project which includes a "Snowman" somewhere on your Christmas card!

Here is my card with a few snowmen on it *wink* Most of my crafty friends know that I am totally ADDICTED to snowmen (and snowflakes, and stars.....and.....)

This cute image is a Cheryl Alger digi called "Hanging Stars" and I absolutely love coloring these fun dudes :) I colored them up with bright Copic markers, added some Paper Smooches snowflake dies and my fun die cut arrow from Reverse Confetti! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink - I love this font!

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:

Completely Christmas - Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge - D is for diecuts
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - Anything Goes - Lots of Layers!
Just Add Ink - Lots of Layers!

4CC #188 {Color A Stamped Image}

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday! I would like to take this opportunity to welcome miss Leslie from  Love to Scrap as our April Guest Designer...please be sure to hop on over and welcome her to the hen house :)

Miss Leanne is our hostess this week and she's issuing the following challenge for y'all:

4 CC #188 {Color a Stamped Image}

This card was super fun to make. My super-talented daughter, Kim, colored this image (I cannot take credit for that at all I'm afraid) and I told her I'd make her into a card. What an amazing job she did! You cannot tell from the pics, but she added some sparkle to her dress, bodice and wings but it's not showing up. Looks gorgeous in real life! WTG, missy!

This cutie-patootie is one of the newly released clear stamps from Lacy Sunshine called Abigail Cherished Wings. She's so adorable! Kim had a lot of fun bringing her to life in these colors and she's also made one in green/brown...can't wait to showcase that one sometime too! ;)

I'd like to enter this challenge into the Lacy Sunshine's "Add Flowers" challenge :)

Thanks for stopping in today and please be sure to check out what the rest of the Chicks have created for you. You can get to the challenge blog HERE. Happy crafting!

STS #17 {Easter Greetings}

Welcome back to another challenge from Seize the Sketch hosted by Jen Mitchell....

I received some awesome HAPPY MAIL last week from Reverse Confetti and got to work right away:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch but added some twine to the bottom of the image panel.

This Carton Cuties stamp set and matching dies are AWESOME! I ended up going pretty CAS on this one and I cannot wait to muck with this set some more! So fun!!

Be sure to check out what the other Sketchers have created for you today :) They have all made creations that will knock your socks off! Click HERE to go over to the STS Challenge blog. Happy crafting!!

{PIN}spirational #101 - Happy Birthday!

 Welcome back to another challenge at {PIN}spirational Challenges! Here is the photo for his week's challenge:

Our sponsors for this week's challenge are as follows:

I decided on the cute birthday turtle from Bugaboo Stamps and tried to color her up as close as I could to the inspiration photo above....then I perked it up a bit with Melon Mambo and reds....

I hope you get a chance to play along this week - the inspiration photo is gorgeous and the possibilities are endless! Please take a minute to peruse the challenge blog HERE to see what other awesome projects the DT has for you! Happy crafting!

TPE #244 {Chalkboard Technique}

Welcome back to my blog :) If you are looking for my Merry Monday post, please scroll down (it won't hurt for you to admire this new challenge here at The Pink Elephant while you scroll *wink*)

This week's technique challenge is "The Chalkboard Technique." I have to admit, I've admired so many cards using this technique, but I've never tried it. I was excited to give it a whirl...I went to You Tube and scoped out some vid's on how to do it and it looks easy enough. Uh *would have been* had I had the right ink - or enough of it. I dug out my SU! Whisper White Craft Ink pad and some black card stock and got busy.

My ink pad was not moist enough I don't think - the stamped image I was using was very dull - all the projects I've seen they are crisp, bright white. SIGH. I do not have a refill for the Craft White ink I had to resort to Plan B. Cheat. LOL

I dug out a 6 x 6 pack of MME paper called Chalk Studio and I used this image from it and smudged a bit of my WW ink on it with a sponge to give it that "just wiped" effect on a chalk board. I really do like how this turned out and I am excited to get better ink to try it "for real!" Here's my completed card:

I hope you get a chance to gather some supplies and come get inky with us - it's a messy but FUN technique! Come check out what the rest of the girls made for your viewing pleasure HERE. Happy crafting!!
