4 CC #274 You are the Coolest....

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday everyone! It looks as if winter has finally arrived here in central Alberta - and it's settled right in. We just had a 2-day storm and it delivered us almost a foot of snow - some places got a bit less, some got more. I had the snow blower out all afternoon yesterday and for now, the yard is clear ;) Truth be told, I would actually be happy with this amount for the rest of the season lol....more time for me to stay indoors and drink coffee, make cards and crochet! LOL....

It is my turn to be the challenge hostess this week and I am looking for some of those cards that I never seem to have enough of on hand....

This "cool dude" is from Kenny K and he is a pre-colored digi that I bought from my LSS in Rimbey a year or so ago....what a great find!!

I hope you have some time to come and get crafty with us Chicks - pop on over to the hen house HERE and link up your card for us to come visit you! Cheers!

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favorite Season (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.
My favorite season used to be Spring but for the past 10 or so years, I am loving my winter months. I love the slow-down and get the time to hunker down in my house with the candles lit, coffee on and diggin' out all my crocheting and stamping supplies!

This card was another I made at Diane's Christmas Stamp-A-Stack a few weeks back. Totally am in love with this window die and winter scene - both from Stampin' Up! Be sure to come on over to the As You Like It Challenge blog and see what the rest of my incredibly talented team mates have created just for you! Link up your project too - we'd love to have you!! Tell us what your favorite season is ;) Cheers!

4 CC #273 {Inspired by a Christmas Song}

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday! We finally got some white stuff that stuck to the ground last night and made the roads a bit slick and icy but it's starting to look more and more like November ;) I wouldn't mind if we didn't get much more of it. Don't get me wrong, normally, I do love the snow and the winter time, but this is my daughter's first year of winter driving and it worries me - A LOT! So, I'd be happy with just the cooler temps and light snow LOL...

This week, over at 4 Crafty Chicks, miss Tamie is our hostess and for this weeks challenge, she's looking for cards that are inspired by Christmas tunes.....check it out:

4 CC #273 {Inspired by a Christmas Song}

My card was made at my good friend, Diane's, Christmas Stamp-A-Stack a few weeks back. I don't get to attend those very often, so I was ecstatic when I found out I could go! As I was making this card, I found myself singing the tune - "Have a Holly, Jolly's the best time of the year"

I had such a great time hanging out with Diane's stamping group, making cards - be sure to keep an eye out - I will be showcasing more of them in the weeks ahead :) Be sure to hop on over to the challenge blog and check out what's shakin' in the henhouse this week - you will NOT be disappointed and, it will trigger your Christmas carols memory!! Cheers!

4 CC #272 {Ribbon}

This is a very late post for my 4 Crafty Chicks challenge this past week. My little sister, Jackie, and the 3 kiddos came for a visit on Wednesday and the house was busy, busy, busy until Friday afternoon. We all had a chance to get inky and crafty while they were here, even Cooper, he made a couple cards too! We cleared off the kitchen table, added a table for the kids to sit at and got to work! ;)

Miss Tina is our hostess this week and she's looking for RIBBON on our projects - my card has a few ribbon(s) on it - on the pressies and I added real red satin ribbon as well:

I hope you can find a bit of time this weekend to get crafty with us Chicks! Come on over to the blog and see what the henhouse walls are filled with - CRAFTY GOODNESS! Happy crafting!

4 CC #271 {2-step stamping}

Good afternoon everyone! So sorry that my 4 Crafty Chicks post is late - I had every intention of having a card done "early" but life things have been getting in the way....

Leanne is challenging us to do some 2-step stamping and I bought a Misti especially for this type of you think I have any stamps for 2-step stamping?!? ACK!!! I had scoured my cupboards over and over for a set to try out the technique and came across an oldie from Stampin' Up! called Field Flowers. I tried that set 3 different times and it looked AWFUL! I remembered that I just received my Stamp of Approval bundle from Catherine Pooler in the mail a week or so ago and came across a wonderful set from "the ton" Couture Clear Stamps called Holiday Flourishes....

There are a lot of flourishes and pretty whoop-de-whoo's in this set PLUS this adorable holly collection - with outline stamps etc - perfect for 2-step stamping:

For the leaves, I used Wild Wasabi and then stamped over them with Garden Green and for the berries, I used Cherry Cobbler and stamped the outline in black....

Be sure to hop on over to the 4 Crafty Chicks blog and see what the rest of our Chicks have for you - be sure to also welcome our new Guest Designer! Cheers!

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday everyone! October has 5 Thursdays in it so that means we are hosting a CRAZY EGG challenge this week and I get to play hostess!! The theme for our crazy egg challenges are always ANYTHING, let your creativity fly and come enter whatever you'd like: 3D projects, cards, scrapbooking, etc. You name it, we'd love to see it!

For my card this week, I decided to make another Halloween card. I don't make many of these as I don't have a lot of supplies/stamps for the holiday - but thanks to last week's challenge, I now have TONS of awesome ideas!!

This was another "easy-peesy" card that took about 10 mins to make! LOVE THOSE :) The raven image was already printed on some paper in a Halloween pack so I cut the strip out, layered it on black then added a cobweb doily, some twine and a few gumdrops! The embossed polka dot paper was also included in the Halloween paper pack :)

Be sure to hop on over to the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog HERE and see what the rest of the Chicks have created for our ANYTHING GOES challenge! Link up your project there so we can come visit you and leave you some love!

Have a very SAFE and FUN Halloween night this Saturday and enjoy all the goodies and treats! I am excited to see how many little ghouls and goblins we get this year ;) CHEERS!

Merry Monday #177 {lights & glitter}

Welcome back to my corner of the "crafty web" folks! The mornings are getting more and more frosty and chilly here in central Alberta, CANADA....the winter months are getting closer. I am looking forward to the cozy days card making and crocheting - resting up a bit as I have a lot of yard/gardening work I do throughout the summer months ;)

This week over at Merry Monday, miss Wendy is wanting to see some Christmas lights and glitter on our cards! Awesome challenge, Wendy!

For my card, I dug out a cute set from The Alley Way Stamps called "Chill Out." I drew the light string lines free hand using a large candle jar as my guide, then stamped the lights and colored them with copics and added some Crystal Effects to each one:

The image panel is layered onto some red glitter fun :)

Be sure to hop on over to the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge blog HERE to see what the rest of the Merry Makers have created for you! Link up your card so we can come visit your blog and comment - you have a chance to win being our Guest Designer for the following week! Happy crafting!!

Happy Halloween at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Happy "4 Crafty Chicks" Thursday!! This week, it is my turn to bring you all the challenge - and as you can probably guess, it's "HALLOWEEN!"

My card came together in about 10 minutes, if that..LOL! I cut out a stamped ghost image from an older Stampin' Up! set called Hey, Ghoul Friend, then popped it up on some designer paper that had everything pre-printed on it! Added some gumdrops from Your Next Stamp and wa-laaa - done!!

I really hope to see a lot of entries in the gallery over at 4 Crafty Chicks challenge blog this week - the creativity around Halloween time is awesome and I need some more ideas as I don't have a lot of goodies that are focused on this holiday! Come on over to see what the rest of the Chicks have for ya in the hen house and play along! Cheers!

Merry Monday #176 {Making a Frame}

Welcome back to another challenge from Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge! There is approximately 2 months left until the you have cards ready for the mail yet? Come on over and join us each Monday and you can have one card a week DONE! WAHOOOO.....

This week, miss Sue is our hostess and she's looking for Christmas cards with a "FRAME" on it....

I have had very little time for crafting this past little while, so I wanted to make something very quick and simple....I love how this turned out - added some buttons to the base card and then cut out a frame with my 'Lil Inker Designs stitched squares die....I am thinking if I make more of these, I will tie some twine around the base of the tree (right below the buttons) for the finishing touch ;)

Be sure to click HERE to see what the rest of the Merry Makers have created for Sue's challenge this will NOT be disappointed! Link up your creation so that we can come visit you - you might also be chosen as our Guest Designer :) Happy crafting!!
